Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Plumbing Booster
Product
What is Plumbing Booster?
Plumbing Booster is a professional plumbing engineering software that automates pipe sizing, drainage design, pump selection, water heater sizing, and report generation. It supports IPC, UPC, and NSPC plumbing codes and works offline on Windows and Android.
What modules are included?
All plans include: Domestic Water Supply, Drainage System, Water Heaters, Pumps & Pump Selection, Water Supply Tanks, Riser Diagrams, PDF Reports, and a Global Unit Converter.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Plumbing Booster is offline-first. All calculations, code tables, and features work without an internet connection. No project data is transmitted to any server.
Platform
Which platforms are supported?
Plumbing Booster runs on Windows 10 or later (desktop app) and Android (mobile app). Both are included with your license.
Can I use it on multiple devices?
Each license allows 1 PC and 1 mobile device to be active simultaneously. You can deactivate a device and activate a new one if you change hardware.
Is there a web version?
Plumbing Booster is a native desktop and mobile application. A web portal for account management is planned for the future but the core engineering tools remain native for offline performance.
Trial
How long is the free trial?
The free trial lasts 28 days with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start.
What happens after the trial ends?
After 28 days, you can subscribe to continue using the software. Your project data is preserved and ready when you subscribe.
Can I extend my trial?
Trial extensions are considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if you need more time to evaluate.
Billing
How much does Plumbing Booster cost?
Plumbing Booster is $5/month or $40/year (save 33%). Both plans include all modules and features. The yearly plan adds priority support and early access to new features.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. You will retain access until the end of your billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Refund requests are considered case-by-case within 14 days of purchase. Contact us with your situation.
Is there a perpetual license?
A one-time perpetual purchase option is planned. Currently, subscriptions are the available billing model.
Licensing
How does licensing work?
Licenses are device-based using a keypair identity system. You activate your license on your PC and mobile device. Offline tokens allow continued use without internet for up to 7 days.
Can I transfer my license to a new computer?
Yes. Deactivate the license on your old device, then activate it on the new one. If your old device is unavailable, contact support for assistance.
Privacy
Does Plumbing Booster send my data anywhere?
No. Plumbing Booster is offline-first. Your project data stays on your device. Only anonymous license metadata is transmitted for license validation.
Do you use analytics?
This website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and download trends. The desktop app does not include any analytics tracking — your project data stays on your device.

Engineering
Which plumbing codes are supported?
Plumbing Booster supports IPC (International Plumbing Code), UPC (Uniform Plumbing Code), and NSPC (National Standard Plumbing Code). You can switch between codes per project.
How does WSFU conversion work?
WSFU (Water Supply Fixture Units) are converted to flow rates using official code tables: IPC Table E103.3(3), UPC tables, and NSPC tables. The software automatically selects the correct conversion based on your chosen code and system type (flush tank vs flushometer).
What pipe sizing methods are available?
IPC table-based sizing (using official IPC pipe sizing tables), UPC table-based sizing, and velocity-based sizing with configurable velocity limits and material-specific calculations.
How are pressure requirements calculated?
Pressure analysis uses IPC Table 604.3 fixture pressure requirements, static head loss (0.433 psi/ft), Hazen-Williams friction losses with material-specific C-factors, and a 1.2x safety factor.
What pump types are supported?
Booster pumps (with pressure-deficiency analysis and governing scenario selection), sump pumps (with basin sizing and cycle-time checks), transfer/fill pumps, hot water recirculation pumps, and stormwater pumps.
What water heater sizing methods are available?
ASHRAE 2019 HVAC Applications Chapter 51 Table 13 (primary), Table 16 (standalone), and Table 15 (standalone with manual design flow input). B2 auto-staging with optional N+1 redundancy and catalog-based selection.
Can I use custom or non-code-listed fixtures?
Yes. Custom equipment entries respect your entered WSFU or flow values as authoritative. The software does not convert or reinterpret custom fixture data.
